Request Account & Data Deletion
At Overlay Text, we respect your privacy and give you full control over your data. You have the right to request the deletion of your account and all associated personal information.
How to Delete Your Data
You can delete your account and data through one of the following methods:
Option 1: In-App Deletion
The fastest way to delete your data is directly through the mobile app:
- Open the Overlay Text app
- Go to your Profile
- Scroll down to the "Danger Zone"
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm your choice
This action is immediate and irreversible.
Option 2: Email Request
If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion via email:
Send an email to support@overlaytext.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".
Please include your registered email address so we can locate your account.
What Data Will Be Deleted?
When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from our systems:
- Account Information: Your name, email address, and profile picture.
- Saved Content: Any images, projects, or templates you have saved to the cloud.
- App Data: Usage history, preferences, and settings.
Please Note
Deletion is permanent. Once your data is deleted, it cannot be recovered. If you have an active subscription, please ensure you cancel it through the App Store or Google Play Store separately, as deleting your account does not automatically cancel store-managed subscriptions.
Data Retention Policy
We retain user data only for as long as necessary to provide our services. Once an account deletion request is processed, all personal data is removed from our active databases immediately. Backup systems may retain residual copies for a limited period (up to 30 days) before being securely overwritten, in accordance with industry standards and data protection regulations.
